The term ‘triggers and heaps’ refers to play analysis. The initial action (a trigger) will result in a second action (the heap). The heap will become the next trigger.
In printmaking, we develop an image through ‘proofing’ whereby we pull a print of a work in progress. Based on that proof we make visual decisions and adjust the image. Then we proof again, adjust, proof and so on. These proofs are documents of decision-making. Their sequencing composes a narrative of responses.
